Hi - Auto enthusiast friends that have serious European cars tell me to not try and save money and that I should install 225 winters on the front and 255s on the rear, as it is now. Staggered, just as the car came.
I've spoken with a few dealers of tires and, although I wasn't asking for any kind of deal, two of them suggested 18" rims and 225 tires for winter.
There's no question this would be less expensive but I wan't asking that and they seem to know what they're talking about. I'm a novice when it comes to serious cars.
I'm not super wealthy but I do want to put suitable tires and wheels on this fine automobile.
Right now I'm looking at Pirelli Sottozeros. The choice of wheels seems to be huge.
Any recommendations appreciated. Thanks!

I agree it will be hard to decide which wheels to purchase because of the wide variety of products in the market today. Niche, American Racing wheels, and Touren are just some of the brands to check out. By the way, why would you want to replace the wheels on your new car?

I think the best bet for winter is 4 x 225/45/18 on any rims that you like. Steel wheels are a great option for winter. Some people despise the look - to each their own.

That’s what I did (on alloys though) …
