What's your favorite oil brand?

Recommended SAE Viscosity for the Kia Stinger. Most people will be using 5W-30 or 5W-40. More information can be found on the Kia Stinger Oil Thread.

I am not particularly brand loyal when it comes to oil, but I have been using 10w-60 Castrol in my performance cars and it always delivers. For the Stinger I believe a 15w40 is more than enough for my use all year round.

If you want to read a simple explanation on oil viscosity, check the below link,

Who is planning on using (Group 5) Ester based oil?

Really great article you linked there.

Never heard of Group 5 or Ester based oil before, any particular reason why its better?

Supposedly provides better protection, but honestly its overkill for your average Stinger owner.

Been running either Mobil 1 or Pennzoil Platinum for years but recently switched to Quaker State Ultimate Durability. It's getting very positive reviews and plus it's cheaper than M1 and PP+.

so I've been told that full synthectic is not the same as 100% synthectic, can someone comment on this

The manual calls for an oil rated GF-4 or better. Mobil 1 is GF-5 and has kept my two GM small blocks trouble-free for 200,000 miles (and longer, I'm sure). I use 5W-30 year round.

That's correct. You can look at the Group # on the back of most oil bottles. Group 4 or higher is 100%, anything less is produced from refined crude oil. Mobil 1 is 100% synthetic.

Changed the oil myself this weekend and switched to Mobil 1. Had to make two trips to the auto parts store because I didn't realize the Stinger took 9 quarts of oil.[biggrin]

Stinger 2.0 AWD - Ravenol FES 0W-30 Meets the exact recommended "standards" of ACEA C2 and Viscosity 0w-30.

This oil has been absolutely fantastic in my vehicle. I started out using Royal Purple, (no longer my number one choice) until I came across this brand of oil. Did a decent amount of research (but at the end of the day, especially with such a new vehicle, have to just test out what works/feels best for your vehicle) Ravenol has yet to disappoint. Just did another oil change with it a few days ago. Vehicle feels so amazing.) (but then again, regardless if brand of oil, it better feel amazing right after an oil change) lmao IMG_20190919_140847.jpg
