Interesting... I just chatted with a dealer who's worked at his Kia dealership for 4 years and said the configurations - any GT or GT1 w/AWD and Drive Wise are configured with 18's standard. Nothing with AWD and Drive Wise GT or GT1's coming in with 19s. None of them. And I have seen the window sticker showing that 18's are under the "Additional Features" area. So they are being configured this way from Kia Corporate.

The disappointing part is he claims once the packages are set, they are kinda set - Kia doesn't readily change them. So I emailed the VP of Product Planning Kia USA in Irvine and suggested the 2019's do otherwise... Hmmm...
I've let Kia Corporate know of this configuration "issue" (at least to me and some others looking at a GT AWD w/Drive Wise), and it appears to be a "northern" configuration if you will, but it's uniform across the entire country. This leads me to think it's a cost cutting measure. They are clearly saving a few hundred on tires and wheel size.

This is something BMW would do with some basic 3-series 320i's etc... Granted, BMW has a slug of 3-series to play with and configure to about any direction they choose. With Kia, they have two engine types and thus two starting configuration models more-or-less, and Kia seems bent on wanting to target the highest end of BMW's 3 or 4-seires and maybe M's with this car. The US living south of the mason-dixon line could take the GT AWD w/Drive Wise 19's and summer's in a heartbeat.

So to me it's a slight cost savings. I'm hoping the 2019's late fall/early winter come in with more choice. I'm not purchasing until then anyway. This will be the most expensive car I have ever purchased (if the Mrs will even agree to it!). So we'll see what Kia does. I find the 2019's starting to provide many questions to the enthusiast/consumer market.

? Will Kia make ANY changes?
? If so, will it be with configuration types only? Or will Kia also change pricing a bit?
? Will the US versions get Kia's infamous more for less attitude, dropping in the 360 camera and other missing features for no price increase?
? Will Kia provide more al-a-carte ordering options?

Should be interesting to see what they do...

I'm thinking 2020 we'll be seeing more drastic changes, maybe even a horsepower bump.

I had to search several dealers before I found a Panthera metallic.

I recall from my hotrod days a candy apple red color. It was quite popular and more striking than current reds.

Had to do the blue :)

Awesome shots man! Almost did the blue also. But then showed the wife and kids the color options (photos I airplay'd up onto the TV) and they did NOT like the blue. Oldest said it looked cheap or like plastic. I thought it was GREAT! But hey, I was out-voted and there was another that had "it all" for my wants. Thus, went with the White with black tinted windows look. Love the blue though. Great photos. Congrats! Can't go wrong.

Thank you! The blue does look cheap, till you see it in person. Sealing/waxing also helps.

Speaking of sealing what did you use? I'm thinking of using Troy Sowers Ceramic technique (he's easy to find on YouTube)... Any suggestions I'm all ears. Thanks!

Always and forever Larry Kosilla?s AMMO for me. The pics here are after a Reflex, Skin, and Creme treatment.

Five months since I bought my GT1 AWD and still have not seen another Dtinger on the road in NoVa. Surely there must be other cars out there.

Well, it may depend where you live. Winter sales for this kind of a vehicle are likely to be slow. I am in the general Portland/Metro area, have seen several, and was recently driving behind a silver on on the HWY! A fleet of Stingers, watch out!!! ; )

Secondly, Stinger sales should pick up again in the spring. Add in the better weather, and join it with KIA advertising the Stinger as the flagship sponsor of the NBA with ratings and playoffs heading into late spring (thus more Stinger awareness), and you'll see more for sure on the road.

Great car! Alas, I think my foot rest next to the gas pedal broke? Pushing up I heard a crack/snap, and now the top of the pedal is not firm but squishy? What? I'm 190lbs... Pushing up to pull any wrinkles out of my kaki's shouldn't happen...
