Let's get a discussion started on E85 fuel blend. What do you guys think would be a safe blend?

None, according to the owner's manual.

"E85" fuel is an alternative fuel comprised of 85 percent ethanol and 15 percent gasoline, and is manufactured exclusively for use in Flexible Fuel Vehicles. ?E85? is not compatible with your vehicle. Use of ?E85? may result in poor engine performance and damage to your vehicle's engine and fuel system. Kia recommends that customers do not use fuel with an ethanol content exceeding 15%.

For DI engines the limiting factor is the high pressure pump and injector flow rates. Due to ethanol having a lower BTU rating that straight gasoline more fuel is needed to prevent a lean out in WOT conditions. Probably the only way is to data log watching the oxygen sensors for lean conditions with a variety of blends.

I haven't seen any data searching the web for blending with Hyundai/Kia turbo engines. Plenty of info for Audi's, Subi's, Evo's and Ecoboost though....

It can be done...the official response is covering their warranties. We need the details on the fuel pump/regulator etc.
