It's going to be a mixed discussion. I have experience with them working and not working. I said the h*ll with it and gave up on it. A buddy got a Malibu LTZ and wanted to see what it could do against my SRT 300 (yeah, I know). Cop, blacked out, middle of the interstate, clocked me in triple digits... Radar went off no more than a quarter mile away. Wrote me for 20 over, bless his heart [thumb]

The technology and radar we use for our detectors is not as advanced at what police have. We have H, K and many different bands but why would "they" sell us something that would keep us from being pulled over? It's a money pit, I liked mine for aesthetic reasons to be honest. Jammers on the other hand? That might be worth while... You'll never catch me using one though.

Most departments only use lasers these days which makes it even harder for the detectors to give adequate distance warning. By the time the laser detector goes off, the officer has already gotten you in their line of sight. I've been using the Waze app a lot and its been doing a great job of providing me speed trap alerts.

Found two videos that show how little time there is to slow down.

I've heard of that app but I would probably only do use it if I was doing a sustained 10 over for some reason or high speed runs, which I don't normally do. They will always be ahead of us, no matter what is out there in the black market.
