Have this code popped up from 800 something miles till current 1100+ miles. I have used the gas, filled it back up, make sure we turned the gas tank lid all the way.... any simple fixes or what could cause it?

Don?t really want to take it to dealer for service if it?s something easy...

Have exhaust, down pipes, and BOV I want to install this week but only if I can get the code to go away.

Have you performed any mods to the car yet? The engine code pulls up this.

• Faulty canister vent control valve
• Purge Control Valve harness is open or shorted
• Purge Control Valve electrical circuit poor connection

The Evaporative Emission System (EVAP) canister vent control valve is located on the EVAP canister and is used to seal the canister vent. This solenoid (the EVAP canister vent control valve) responds to signals from the Engine Control Module (ECM). When the ECM sends an ON signal, the coil in the solenoid valve is energized. A plunger will then move to seal the canister vent. The ability to seal the vent is necessary for the on board diagnosis of other evaporative emission control system components.This solenoid valve is used only for diagnosis, and usually remains opened. When the vent is closed, under normal purge conditions, the evaporative emission control system is depressurized and allows EVAP Control System (Small Leak) diagnosis.

Hmmm so is there something I should look for or do? And premium gas is what we use right?! That?s what we have been using

Yes, gotten gas 5 times now and ensured it?s TIGHT, @ 1400 miles now... road trip the last 2 days

Interesting. In that case I think a visit to the dealer is ahead. However it is nothing that will hinder your car in your road trip.

Since this code has to do with the EVAP system and your mods are exhaust and BOVs, holdings off will be wise. Besides the fix should not take more than a day to get done, unless they need to replace a part.

For something like this, I would take it to the dealer before installing the mods. Call them ahead of time and ask for a loaner.

They're designed to absorb any leaking fuel vapors from the fuel tank.

Sounds good they ordered the part and will have car back Saturday... scares me from adding my bolt ons...? Wait a couple thousand miles or add them when I get it back?

If the canister solves the CEL issue, then you can get right to modding

In other vehicles, based on my experience, this can be caused if owners of newer cars "top off" their gas tank. Owners should just remove the fuel nozzle when the auto-shutoff is triggered when pumping gas. Overfilling can damage the canister.
