Hello everyone

Saw my 1st Stinger at the Detroit Auto Show. Saw the red and was just like its another car, I am a very color visual attracted, and the saw the Sunset Yellow and just had to get in it. My wife knew it was love at 1st site.

We were there looking for a new ride for her but mostly SUV type. She drives an HHR and we are looking at the Chevy Equinox, Volvo 40, Infinity QX 50, Mazda CX-5 AWD, and Mazda6(I liked the interior). I know that list is not apples to apples comparison.

What helps me is that is also available in the AWD and that is important to my wife.
So its still up in the air if this does become my, I mean her next ride but I am doing allot of researching on the Yellow availability and that brought me here. My 1st reads were there are only so many Yellow and they came as the base unit. Now I see that is not true from this site.

Im here to try and get enough information to make my case to her. I am more about having all extras in the car except the lane departure cross traffic, etc kind of things, she could care less for the most part. She wants heated seats and a little room in the rear end.

I have never driven a turbo so I am looking forward to see what thats about. I currently drive a 2005 Dodge Magnum RT with 392 stroker -417whp.
So a couple early questions... Does the AWD vs the RWD, compare in basic weather driving, dry, wet, not including ice and snow. Is there a pro or con for either?
Is there a downside going RWD and not getting the LSD, say GT1 version?
What is not available as in option in the SY? I heard the sunroof but I have saw pictures so I am not sure?
What are some of the issues you early buyers are experiencing?
Any advice or suggestions?
Any disappointments or regrets on the options or in general so far?

Thank you everyone
Dave

I see that you live MI, would highly suggest getting the AWD option.

You'll want LSD if you're not getting AWD.

Sunset Yellow only comes in the GT trim, which means 3.3T only. Some are going to be GT, GT1, GT2 so the options will vary.

Some early buyers were having hatch rattle issues, that has been addressed and fixed.

Any advice or suggestions?
Sunset Yellow is going to be a limited run of 400 units, so don't wait too long if you want certain options. And don't pay over MSRP.

Any disappointments or regrets on the options or in general so far?
I originally didn't want the Drive Wise but my wife talked me into it, I'm glad I did and would suggest you you do the same.

Goodluck with the purchase.

3.3Turbo4me answered this exactly as I would have. I might throw in that performance is essentially identical for the RWD and AWD models according to all reviews I've seen. LSD is only available on the GT and GT2 RWD models, not the GT1 (go figure that one out) and is not available or needed on AWD.

Most brands now have the equivalent of the DriveWise package available as an option including a lot of UV's, so it's not unique to Kia.

If you can live with the hatch capacity, especially with the rear seats folded, why would you want a big UV with a high center of gravity and marginal power and handling? JMHO.

Welcome!

If you live up north I hear the AWD is fantastic in the snow so if I were you I would opt for that option!

The yellow is definitely a bold color and you'll be turning heads for sure if you get in one!

Good info. Davesatdoasisbar, as you may know, your Magnum probably has some trouble in the winter up there unless you have a daily. I had to get a daily because my SRT8 300 wouldn't go anywhere in an inch of snow, I'll thank the summer tires for that one. I would suggest AWD if you can live without getting sideways every now and again. LSD will only do "one wheel burnouts" sometimes. I'm guessing you wouldn't like that. Yellow is a great color but it's not for me. I drove a GT and it had little options, hence why I bought my current car. You can't really go wrong with a trim level, it's a great car. Any issues, the dealership will take car of them.

Cheers

Thanks for the follow up. I think the AWD will be a must as this will be a daily year round. And Ill look into the Drive Wise as I go through the options one more time.
Thanks again

My wife wanted the SUV as she is only 5'4 and likes to sit a little higher. I will say the Infinity 50 looked really nice inside but isnt available yet to drive or and time is running out for me to make a decision. Especially wanting to get a SY color.
And there is only the 2 of us so the most we have a need for space is usually a couple golf bags and a some luggage.
Thank you
