Hey guys new member here looking for some imput on what to do for map 3, so today i did a mix of E86( Tested at E80)! However i ran the car around today and yes it did increase power but i was told that on one of my logs i sent to a good buddie to not run it anymore until i get a dyno tune or a tuner in general to use logs to tune. Everything looked good until on one of my logs it cutout at peak basically telling me that i can burn my pistons up. May sound like a rookie but trying to learn more about this.

HERE IS A LOG:https://datazap.me/u/sean-gt2/log-1618186107?log=0&data=1-4

Welcome. I assume you're using a JB4? If so, you don't need a dyno tune to run E30, the JB4 will handle it all, including safety measures in case something goes wrong. If you're getting a throttle cut at or near redline, that's normal on higher maps; the workaround is to manually upshift at or around 5-5200 rpm.

How much E85 and 93 did you pump? Are you sure you didn't go above E30?

I am using a jb4! Also such a relief that I don't have to worry so much and that the cutout is normal.
It was about 5 gal of e85 and the rest was 93 according to my jb4 I measured at roughly 22-29 e85

One thing I noticed on your log is that it looks like you didn't do one long full throttle pull. Terry always recommends doing it that way, if you have a place that's safe to do so. What I mentioned above about throttle closure wouldn't apply in your case, since you didn't stay in it long enough to change gears. I don't see any fuel pressure drops so if you're getting what feels like a cut out, you may have something else going on after all.

If you're able to get a log from a long pull, like from 1st gear up to like 80 mph or so, I would recommend posting it to n54 and ask Terry to take a look at it:
https://www.n54tech.com/forums/forumdisplay.php?f=39

One other thing, it looks like you're on old firmware (you're on v16, but 22 is the latest). Do you know how to update it?

get some logs with at least WOT through 2nd and into 3rd gear. Would be good to go WOT through 2nd and 3rd into 4th. As it is now, your only real wot pull doesnt show anything that looks out of the ordinary. Ignition, trims, fuel pressures etc all look fine in that one long pull.

The log I posted was like 5 pulls I did in the same day almost back to back and I'm not sure why it posted into one log. I did multiple 2500-6000 pull in 3rd gear pull let out then went to 4

I just noticed that, I believe to update I go into the app?? For some reason the jb4 put the multiple runs into one log .

its a bunch of small pulls, but it isnt the pulls you need. you need to get pulls with throttle 100% through multiple gears to get a good set of logs to use to diagnose/tune.

jb4 will combine multiple logs into 1 if you have that setting marked. idr exactly where the option is, but theres an option to split the logs into multiples

here is an example of a minimum of what you want. 2nd gear through 3rd gear pull. (this is an n54 with some fueling/spark issues) https://datazap.me/u/csu87/n54?log=0&data=1-4-10-11-17-18

I gotcha as soon as I get home I'll go run a 0-80 pull

OK your logs are concerning. The first one shows you had both timing corrections and fuel trim variance, the latter caused the jb4 to put you back on map 0 for safety reasons. I don't want to tell you the wrong thing so I would definitely suggest reaching out to Terry for expert guidance.

You probably noticed your car felt stock again. Once you stop and restart your engine, you'll be able to go back to a higher map on the jb4. But if you do, I'd take it easy until you get some feedback from Terry.

Good luck man.

You can email him directly or even start a thread on n54, linked above, that way others with knowledge can chime in.

His email is Terry@burgertuning.

UPDATE: could be due to me still having e in my tank IDK at this point. Map 1 is now cutting out an disabaling the JB4 Map2 is doing the same thing
tank still has 75 miles till e after a refuel with 93. Currently showing 5-7% E85 with a 1\4 tank of fuel
Judging on my newbie at reading logs is that the AFR dropped and caused the safe mode on JB4??

This log is showing a map 1 hold:
https://datazap.me/u/sean-gt2/log-1618970459?log=1&data=1-4-19-23-36

This log was on map 2 but went to safe:

It looks like you're getting a fuel trim variance safety trigger again. From what I can see in two logs, fuel trims (and afr) in bank 2 are not changing at any rpm. On one log, it's the opposite, fuel trim and afr changed in bank 2 but not bank 1.

You might want to check your fuel wires and make sure they're both properly attached/tightened.

E85 on the JB4 is not accurate not unless you have their fuel it kit installed.
