Seems this thread derailed a bit but any updates on this?

I know you've all been waiting on photos of the products we're releasing at the end of the month for the Stinger. I promise I'll post them as soon as I have them. In the meantime I just wanted to give some more information on the intake and exhaust in order to put to bed some of the rumors and questions that seem to be floating around. We started working on our intake and exhaust several months ago and undertook painstaking efforts to ensure the best sound, reliability, and horsepower gains. We went through dozens of prototypes for both the intake and exhaust before we settled on designs that met all the criteria we set out for ourselves when we began. The exhaust system required massive amounts of work to realize a full throaty, authoritative exhaust note with absolutely no drone or excessive noise, all while still producing an 18 horsepower gain at the wheels. The mufflers for this exhaust, like the mufflers for all our exhausts, are manufactured in-house. They are based on a muffler platform we've been using with great success for over 10 years, but we had to lengthen the internal tube and tweak the shape a bit to get the fit and sound we wanted. The intake will not be a true cold-air intake. It will use a FULLY ENCLOSED AIRBOX and produces a gain of 15 horsepower at the wheels. Please don't hesitate to post any other questions you have and I will do my best to answer them.

We strive to offer a product that is superior to our competitors by designing and manufacturing in-house. We use this same strategy to keep our costs down because our philosophy is to produce products we feel are superior to the competition and price them similarly to the competition, hence giving more value for about the same money. In other words, I don't have any concrete numbers just yet, but we will be pricing the intake and exhaust to be competitive with other name-brands in the marketplace.

Because of the amount of R&D involved to do a fully enclosed setup. Add that to how recently the car's come out and it's unlikely we'll see it anytime soon, if ever. If you're coming from other markets, keep in mind the KDM scene is absolutely miniscule, so R&D and production costs can't be easily offset. The Gen Coupe had a huge market and there was only 1 fully enclosed setup made--by a rather small specialist-type company--and that was upwards of $500 for a single side. From my POV the chances are extremely low, that's all. If a big name manufacturer does step up, then it wouldn't be until Q3 at the earliest IMHO.

I believe they have their own mufflers. We're a Stillen dealer and I'm not a big fan of the company or their products. We actually had a recent issue with an exhaust and the customer was getting very little support and shoddy communication from them in regard to the warranty replacement, which really put us in a precarious position. Either way, don't get me wrong--Stillen is ok, but I just feel for their price range there's generally better overall options. Still though, it's certainly worth giving them a chance to see what they bring to the table for the Stinger market.
Mike, this isn?t cool at all. When you posted this, you clearly had not talked to Stillen directly. I did and heard exactly what they said in this thread. Misinformation comprises your company?s credibility.

This is why everything should be taken with a grain of suspicion.

I stand corrected, but the individual who's car had the testing done had no idea either apparently since that's who I spoke to. It's great to hear these options are becoming more on the radar of these companies.

To everyone who has been waiting patiently for us to release our Stinger GT intake, we thank you.

We've had our first production article out on the road for the past 8 weeks for 5,000+ miles of testing since we refuse to release any product that hasn't been fully vetted. The test car finally came in today so that we could remove the first article and install our production model. Since we did not want to release photos of the first article, we were able to get photos of the production intake that I will be posting here tomorrow.

We have not taken any pre-orders or anyone's money at this time.

We will announce the release and begin taking retail and wholesale pre-orders tomorrow on a first-come-first-served basis.

Thanks again to everyone for being supportive during the wait. Keep your eyes here tomorrow!
