I found out that they recommend that you take off the gas shocks to keep the carbon fiber from cracking when shutting the hood, and buy the carbon fiber prop to hold it up when needed

Yea, watched that video already. It would be what mine would look like if I pulled the trigger and purchased the hood also. Was also concerned about snow/rain going in the vent during parked situations while not in garage.

I have seen that and it looks a little over the top in terms of keeping the cars original appearance and style. Boy it just seems like Kia did not finish the job in terms of the dysfunctional hood vents. Perhaps two small extractors in the same location where water could not get in. I may have to CAD up something up because I can't find anything online.

I think I'm acting like an entitled twatwaffle because I really like the Strictly Business Motorsports hood, BUT.... It's carbon fiber OVER fiberglass. So far the only one I can find that is fully CF is the Seibon but it's identical to the stock hood. Am I being a self-indulgent wiener for wanting CF or is it that no big deal?

Are you sure SBM is over fiberglass? I thought his were full CF. For those prices they should be pure CF.

Unfortunately, they are CF over FG. I emailed them asking about it. I wish I still had the email, but it was a long time ago. That's why I changed my mind and am going to go with Seibon. Not much choice in the styles. Stock appearance or radical with huge vents.
