No I got stopped today for not having no front plates. Gave me a warning cause I was a block from the house.

I got some Deltec cable support zip ties

The plate holder

Zip tie ends

And got to work...

It's not perminate and it looks better. It also doesnt block the sensors.
The zip tie end actually tucks behind the plate.

I got some 3m film to go over the bumper so it doesnt scratch the paint.

hmmm....that may scratch the clear on the bumper and the chrome on the grill from all the vibration when driving. Not a good idea.

And don't tighten it too much because you will scratch it as well

That's what the 3m pfp is for [rockon].Trust me I hate scratch paint as much as you do. I put 3m double sided tape on where the plate holder makes contact with the vinyl.

Wouldn't velcro or double sided tape work too? Either way your idea is alot better than drilling haha.

I wouldn't want to try velcro or double tape on something that'll eventually fly off. You'll have to use a lot of double sided tape and make sure the surface is clean. I tried double sided tape before this idea but it kept falling off while I was test fitting it.

I plan on cleaning the front bumper and back of plate. Than cleaning the areas Again with alcohol pads. Than applying 1" wide double sided tape to the Whole outer edge of the plate applying pressure for a few minutes. Than take a run down the interstate at 167 to verify the top end and further seal the front plate....... :)

Another idea is this sealant.. https://www.ebay.com/p/Thomas-Betts-TBT20-Kold-N-Klose-Sealant-2-x12/1323996398

It's really sticky. Stickier than double sided tape. I think it's the same as what they use for the windshield but doesnt harden and not permanent. If it gets on your hands and clothes its nasty stuff. I used it on my evo and haven't had an issue for 3 years. I just made sure I put ppf on the paint first. Also the difference is the evo front bumper is kinda flat so I used white silicon sealant to go around the edges to keep the wind from going behind the plate.
