Hi Terra, I'd read Kia were going to get the optional bimodal through Holden's exhaust supplier ... do you happen to know who this is? I'd seen some article mention Walkinshaw but didn't think this had any credibility.
Do you reckon you can keep it stock, see what you think and then order it post delivery? Also, how would you know what "difference" you're buying? And, just thought of something else, a decent exhaust often "improves" performance - wonder if that's going to be the case here?

Just got home from visiting my local Kia dealer as I'd had a custom Nappa / Alcantara trim fitted to my partner's Sportage Si premium that they wanted to look at. Brought up the question about the exhaust and they told me that they were receiving 1 demo vehicle "fully optioned" around a month prior to the car going on sale. When quizzed about the "fully optioned" statement he said it'd have the exhaust fitted but couldn't advise on anything else. This is in direct contradiction to what the same salesman had told me 2 months ago when we picked the Sportage up and he advised that the GT 3.3 came fully optioned with everything.
If the exhaust is indeed an option it'll be a tough decision whether I'll fit it or wait for the likes of iPE or one of the other Japanese manufacturers who deliver proven quality and sound to release one. I can't imagine you'd get much change out of $3k for a full stainless replacement system from a dealer, I wonder if you can trade the factory system back in
Sound will certainly be the biggest deciding factor for me as I'll be keeping the car for at least 5 years so I need to be able to live with it daily. Always tough to hear the true sounds of exhaust systems online so being able to hear it at the dealer will be a definite advantage.
