Kia Motors Corp, through its sole distributor in the UAE - Al Majid Motors Company, revealed that it is launching the new Stinger, a premium sports sedan, at the upcoming Dubai International Motor Show 2017, in Dubai, UAE.
The event will take place from November 14 to 18, at the Dubai World Trade Centre.
Displayed in public for the first time in the UAE market, Kia's powerful new fastback sports sedan channels the spirit of historic grand tourers - powerful, elegant vehicles capable of moving their owners in style and at speed, said a statement from the company.
The Stinger features a head-turning aesthetic, ample room to accommodate five occupants and their luggage, a stable, unruffled ride, and nimble handling with engaging, rear-biased power delivery. As a car without a predecessor - a true gran turismo - the Stinger offers agile handling and high levels of body control that will delight enthusiastic drivers, it said.
The all-new Kia Stinger will be available with either a 2.0-litre turbo gasoline or a 3.3-litre twin-turbo gasoline V6 engine. Producing 370ps, the Kia Stinger's 3.3-litre twin-turbo V6 enables the car to accelerate from 0-to-100kph in just 4.9 seconds, making it the fastest-accelerating production Kia ever, it added.
The vehicle is equipped with a new braking system developed in collaboration with Brembo disc brakes and designed specifically to meet the demands of the engine's higher power output.
The Stinger's eight-speed automatic transmission is available with both 2.0 and 3.3 engines. Tested for a global audience, the Stinger was subjected to extreme cold, heat and high altitude, and faced up to the unique demands of the desert, congested city centres, mountain passes and permafrost regions.
The Kia Stinger goes on sale globally during the fourth quarter of this year. Pricing and final specifications will be announced closer to the Stinger's on-sale date, it stated.
In addition to the new Kia Stinger, a dedicated hybrid Sport-utility vehicle, the ?Niro', and the facelift version of the popular SUV ?Sorento', will also be displayed at the Dubai International Motor Show 2017, added the company.
