Hood Emblem on Rear Hatch?

I like the Stinger script emblem and all, but will the front hood emblem work on the rear hatch? Other than having to grind a pin like on the hood, any sort of curvature that wouldn't allow a flush fit?

Judging from the emblems I've seen on eBay it wouldn't be that difficult to grind down the pins and use double sided tape to apply it to the rear.

Grinding down the pins is the easy part. Is the spacing between the top 2 pins the same as the front hood though? It also comes with adhesive attached, but I wanted to make sure the shape would sit flush without looking weird.

The curvature can be overcome by applying more tape in the middle, but the 3" E emblem is barely wide enough to cover both holes in the rear, the pins are spaced further apart in the back.

With the Stinger Script emblem, the holes are covered up by the N & G letters.

Rear Stinger Emblem Holes:

I did an overlay so you can see it barely covers the holes.

This is where the holes would be. Make sure you fill in the holes with silicone.

the curvature is not an issue, they are the same. The main issue will be the pin holes, and even though in the sample above it looks like they will line up, the emblem is barely wide enough. You can always try it and if it doesn't work just put the KIA emblem back or slap the Stinger script on[cool]

Here's the answer to the question, will it cover it?

JavaDoc you can try it and if it doesn't fit just put the Stinger script back there.

Nice find, I didn't come across that one before. May have to give it a shot.

Any word on the design, or when it may become available?
Two styles...actual pics of pre-production prototypes should be posted towards the end of this week. Same size as the OEM oval...so people who don't want to go crazy removing any ghosting or covering holes would probably appreciate this.
