Does anyone else have an odd dark notch in the headlight low beam?

Oh there is a resolution alright, take it to a customs shop, have them open up the headlight and remove the factory shroud, I did it with my 2015 Ford Fusion. I did not say was a cheap solution lol:)

I had entire light redone, two new shrouds, inside painted black. $600 with materials.

So after the 600$, the dark spot is gone? normal looking headlight?
If you just wanted to replace the shroud with one that does not create the notch it would be much cheaper than $600. I had custom halos shrouds put in and the inside of the lens painted black.

You would just need to pick out a shroud you liked, examples:

Which shrouds fit the 2019 GT2, and how hard is it to remove the old ones and install the new ones?

This is not something I would recommend to anyone who has not taken a headlight apart and resealed it! If you make a tiny pinhole mistake moisture will get in and fog the lights. I would buy the parts and pay a lighting specialist.
My local example

As far as size, I have not looked but you could call morimoto or retrofitsource and they could help with size.

Thanks so much for the advice! I haven't ever done anything like that before, and don't want to cause any problems in the future. I live just east of Raleigh, but I am sure that there are people around here that do the same thing. I have just purchased my car and have several things that I would like to do. Hopefully, I shop will be able to do it all.

He didn't do it on the Stinger. He did it on his previous car the Fusion on the photo he posted.

He mentioned that modification as a possible solution to remove the notch (which is not a defect, it is to comply with the DOT regulations and lower the output of the light and not blind on coming traffic), however he has not done it on his Stinger.

Yes it works, just do a search for headlight mods...
I do not recommend doing this urself, look up local headlight custom shops. Many times the remove the shroud and the stock headlight projector. In my case I installed a much higher quality projector lense. Sometimes there is cutting and sometimes the use a mix of wire and JB weild to secure the new design. Then you have the re-seal.
I would call around u could expect 200-5/600 to get it done right.
Good luck

Would it be possible to just have the shroud removed to eliminate the problem or is that to simple to work?

It is possible, however in many cases it will look “unfinished” without a replacement, so at the least a minimal shroud would look better. The link above has examples of some that would blend but not cause a notch. There are many other types too.
I’ve got too many projects Scheduled on my stinger to focus on the headlights now but when I get to them I will be making changes:)
