A lot of those can be purchased on the internet.

Your car doesn't have lights in the foot wells? I'm pretty sure mine does.

They also equipped the European Car of the Year candidates (driven by journalists for the competition) with one that we believe was not the Aussie version. Suggests it is coming for other markets (should have been a factory option everywhere from the outset!).
True. Someone mentioned they developed one for the European market from Germany. The difference is that it's not as integrated as the Aussie version and is controlled by a switch.

I'm going to have to see if this can be imported into Canada and have my dealer install it!!

Ripping the dash apart--no real problem. I've done it on more than one vehicle, most recently in a 2013 Mercedes C300 installing a back-up camera--taken apart to even a greater extent than in the Kia photos. Put it back together with absolutely no repercussions after one year. Having factory integration into the system would make it worth the effort!!

The one given to journalists was fully integrated. No way would KIA provide a manual/aftermarket switch-style one for the ECOY contest.
