All the Sudden I'm in Manual Mode

Hey guys,

Here with another odd one.

I'm noticing that I'll be driving around on side streets (doesn't happen while on the HWY) in Drive and all is good. Then, I'll push the accelerator down and all the sudden the RPMs go way up, so I look at the dash to see what's going on and I'm in 2nd gear. While it doesn't happen too often, it does seem to be happening more often lately.

Knowing me, there's a chance I could've hit the paddle shifter, maybe once or twice, but this is happening more than that.

Anyone else seeing this?

You probably hit the paddles, I've done it before and still do it on occasions.

On my GT1, if you’ve only tapped the paddles, it goes into Manual mode but only stays there for 8 seconds or so, then switches back to automatic mode. The only mode that it doesn’t auto switch back is in Sport in which case you can just hold right paddle down for 3 seconds and it goes back to auto. The other way to go, and stay, in manual mode is to move the drive selector out of “D” to the left to manual shift mode.
