i started with the string method and then went to a plastic scraper. just trying to get the plastic scraper behind the badge was all it took. i even sanded the end of the scraper thinner, not sure it heat softened the pain or it was simply toooo much aggression. maybe both? i will be fixing it...

the new badge will not cover the scratch on the right. i bought a paint pen from kia today. ill post a new pic when done. the cold weather here may be hindering the job. is hoovering around the freezing point here. after watching a few videos it seems i could have used more heat.

i just ordered the OEM mud guards today. i'm wondering if i shouldnt block off the vent hole to keep the mud off the side of the car ? cant imagine there would be a brake cooling issue unless i went to the track.
