Kia Stinger GT AWD on GRB Coilovers

Did some higher speed cruising over the weekend. 150 k for extended periods over mostly superhighway but that's where i drive. The suspension does stiffen up at that speed. No floating no pogoing even with some g bumps that I went over with the familiarity of day to day but this time at 150K...

    Snow Tires vs Summer Tires

Hi All. Those of you wanting snows. The company distributing a set for the Stinger in Canada is Durham Kia. The Tires are Ovations, a specialty brand for high performance snow tire sizes. They are on steel wheels. The full set is $800. Incredible deal if you need the skins. In my case I...

    LAP3 USA Kia Stinger Tuning

Those are excellent questions Stinger. I'd love to chip my GT Limited but don't want to jump HP by 36%. That'll lead to other failures. I'll be happy with a 15 or 20% bump. So 420 bhp and I'm good. I'll be modifying the suspension first. Then the chip.

How many people test drove the 2.0T and 3.3T back to back?

I get the reluctance to go red on the interior because the tone of red has to be just right. Sight unseen it is risky. I ordered a red can and swapped it for white when I saw the red was more burgundy (aka lame) than laser red. Enjoy!

Kia Stinger Hatch/Trunk Rattle TSB With New Parts

Thanks for chiming me in CajunStinger. I had major rattle problems. I reset the extendable feet and much was addressed. Then it was still there but sounded different. So I pulled up the trunk pad and relocated the lug nut wrench the dealer put in for the lock nut kit. Then the knock was...

Cool. Red interior? I love silver with red 'guts'.

How many people test drove the 2.0T and 3.3T back to back?

Good on you VegasStinger. You didn't mention the colour you ordered. Anyway, I live in the city. In case you test drove it around open suburban areas, take it through and underpass or into an underground garage. The exhaust sound is really quite in-your-face but not obnoxiously so. In...

Not leaning at all. Just wanting to be aware of all options. I haven't heard back so I think they are out of consideration.

Kia Stinger GT AWD on GRB Coilovers

BTW. This is not a coil over kit. Note the rear springs are on a height adjustable sleeve.

Kia Stinger GT AWD on GRB Coilovers

@kaz is speaking from experience and I agree. Spring stiffness is not the way to improve a road car's suspension. It's fine for the track but not for the road. Instead it's all about damping from the shocks. In any event, I'll be sticking with same springs or same spring rates, or Eibach's...

Kia Stinger GT AWD on GRB Coilovers

I'm definitely going to lower the car. When and with what I'm not sure yet. The GRBS kit can be made with a custom spring rate. Their kit is 30% stiffer than stock. That's more than I'd like. They are able to provide a custom spring rate as well. So now I have to do some figuring. I'm...

    Creaky Hatch

If the creak comes back when it's cold., back out the feet some more. In Toronto here we had a cold snap of -10 C (about 24 F) and I had to do a turn and a half more before the hatch was solid all the time. That electric closure cinches it down really nicely (aka real good).

Kia Stinger GT AWD on GRB Coilovers

I took my car to the dealer on Saturday and, although they say they did nothing, my car went up the hoist and down and now it's fixed. Either I'm crazy, or some wiring harness got stretched I don't know. But the skipping out is gone. The rear and the front are in sync now, and no more...

No wise man never changes his mind upsidedown. You're right re the bracket on the shock body. I'm now in correspondence with the manufacturer and was sent new photos. I'm still waiting on the answers to a bunch of questions. They are mono-tube shocks, but that means the reservoir must be at...
