    Stung in Sin City

Wish I knew it was happening I would have shown up with mine!

    Center rearview mirror wobble

Mine isn't a sometimes thing. When I adjust it, it sits at the bottom of the wobble due to gravity. If I lift the bottom of the mirror with light pressure is moves without the adjustment ball and cup changing. When I release the light pressure it will drop back down to where it wants to settle.

    Center rearview mirror wobble

I just got my car back from service and needed to readjust the rear view mirror. First time I've done this as I am the only person that drives the car. I noticed that the mirror has some 'wobble' on the post. I mean like a half inch or so. The mirror doesn't lose its adjustment nor does is...

    Oil Leak at 4500 miles

So i got my car back yesterday after 11 days in the shop. Looks like they had to take a lot of stuff off to get to the leaking 'upper pan'. Water pump, oil filter housing, fuel lines, valve covers according to the list of gaskets listed on the invoice. They also 'cleaned' the brakes that were...

    Oil Leak at 4500 miles

I went in there today and spoke with the service manager. The service rep is out of the shop this week so I was referred to the service manager. He indicated that there is a leak in the 'upper oil pan'. I asked him what that was and he sort of explained that there is a lower oil pan, then the...

    Oil Leak at 4500 miles

Day 9 and car is still at the dealer. No word from service rep and he doesn't want to return my calls. This is getting serious. I do not think it is reasonable for a dealer to keep a car for 9 days and still have no apparent resolution path for the problem.

    Oil Leak at 4500 miles

So I spoke directly to the service rep just a few minutes ago. Kia wants them to start with the oil pan. I asked if they were replacing the pan or just resealing it. He didn't know. I asked how they seal the pan and he indicated he thought it was silicone rather than a gasket. They will be...

    Oil Leak at 4500 miles

Latest update is that they can't identify where the leak is coming from and are now swapping pictures and stories with Kia Tech support. Day 4 now and it seems like they are no closer to a resolution than day 1. Hopefully my car does not become a training tool for the dealership and Kia Tech...

Chamois or Microfiber for drying your Stinger?

+1 I have two of them and have had them for countless years. I only use them for drying and then wring them out and place them back in the tube for storage.

    Oil Leak at 4500 miles

It's still at the shop and it was on the lift when they showed it to me. There was still a lot of stuff in the way as they had not yet started taking things apart. It was left side I would guess about midway down the engine block. I really don't have a good reference as to where it was coming...

    Oil Leak at 4500 miles

Went in to the dealer for first service at approx 4500 miles yesterday. It's a 2018 3.3T GT2. I had some complaints that I wanted addressed. Namely, the coolant smell that appears occasionally, squeaky brakes on 2 wheels, a defect in the steering wheel leather, and have them look to see if...

    Catch Can Thread

I have installed the ADD w1 can on the PVC side. I used the 2 port can and may be adding a separate check valve. Not sure what I am going to do if anything on the breather side. I didn't care for the big angle bracket that came with the Stinger kit to mount to the wheel well studs so I fabbed...

Hmmm, never thought of a 'hybrid' system like that. Now you got me thinking again.

    Catch Can Thread

I agree with what you're getting at. The dual can system hoses are very long for the breather side can and with the stock air filter box there's not much room to mount another can over there. The single can system, in theory, should be a better PCV system because the check valve arrangement...

    Catch Can Thread

So I am leaning towards a dual can system with a check valve on the manifold line to keep the boost from pressurizing the catch can and the PCV valve. When in boost any crank pressure would be released into the breather side can because that's the only way out. I am also looking at the ADD w1...

Perfect. That is just what I needed. I watched this video too for a more in depth explanation from the same guy. Now I know enough to build my system (or be dangerous). Thanks

    Catch Can Thread

Thanks for the quick response. I am a simple driveway fixit guy that depend on forums like this to keep my vehicles running so it means a lot to get helpful responses from guys that have already walked the path I am on. I am the kind of person that needs to understand how stuff works rather...

    Catch Can Thread

After some more research and PVCYouTube.edu I now understand that the PVC side of the system is the outlet of the system and the breather side is the fresh air inlet. I understand the use of the catch can on the PVC side as that is where all the blowby exits the crankcase and re-enters the...

    Catch Can Thread

So I am getting ready to order the ADD w1 kit and wanted some input whether to go with the V3 single can dual input kit or the Dual Can kit. If one uses the single can kit what happens to the unused line? and which line is it? I think I get the concept of the dual can system in that one can...
