Who would purchase the bi-modal exhaust if it was available in North America?

As long as it's after the cats, you could get refused inspection for unsafe exhaust exit (if it's before the rear wheels and the tech actually inspects it, but this varies by state and county) or a ticket for noise if a cop hears you. If it's before the cats then you'd be refused inspection for...

    After market control arms?

Er.... the stock rear arms have camber and toe adjustment. Sure, they're stamped steel and not tubular, but an adjustable front lower arm is more important. All-out track guys may have some use for the adjustable rear uppers, but more likely to just cause problems.

    After market control arms?

Where have you seen camber bolts for the Stinger? I haven't seen anything outside of the coilover community - and there it's part of the upper mount. I haven't removed a lower arm, but I suspect the entire front suspension is hard mounted - non adjustable.

First use of my Glorious Spare Tire

Same with any spare. 60psi tires leak down pretty quick, so any time you check your tires and at least once a season. A spare will leak down to 40psi within a few months, at which point it's only useful for keeping the disc brake off the pavement.

    After market control arms?

Clearly you haven't looked under your car yet.....

    After market control arms?

The rear has camber adjustment. The front doesn't - at least not explicitly that I can tell.

What's a good fault code reader for the Stinger?

Any of them. I haven't found an aftermarket system that's updated for the Stinger systems yet, so we're limited to the generic OBDII stuff. Supposedly there's something out there, but the folks in the know are keeping their lips sealed. I suspect it's >$1000. You can even use the $5 generic ELM...

How much is your dealer charging for an oil change?

Good god. $17 a quart? And 0w40? I can only hope that's a Special Price for the warranty/insurance coverage and they don't charge their customers that rate.

    Stock brake pads vs others

Extremely limited still. Look up the options @ KharTunerz. He's the only one that's done the leg work and gotten some options put together. Nick also put up a thread somewhere (the other forum?) announcing the availability and a quick comparison between the four options. I still haven't found...

    Proper Battery Maintenance

Er. The Stinger battery is maintenance free. It's an AGM even. No sight glass. Do NOT try to pry off a cap - they don't come off. This writeup is interesting. Yes, traditional flooded batteries with maintenance caps should be checked every few months - at least once a year. A quart is an...

    What torque wrench to choose?

+2 on Harbor Freight, especially if you're just using it for wheels and such. The more expensive ones are a bit nicer to use - whoever designed HF's locking mechanism should be banned from tool design - but that doesn't particularly matter for occasional use. The current Craftsman wrenches have...

First use of my Glorious Spare Tire

Yup. It's the nicest compact spare I've ever seen. Still leaks like crazy like every other 60psi tire.

Any good recommends on a good floor jack for the Stinger?

There are also pinch weld jack adapters out there that go very well with the large jacks. I have this one: http://a.co/d/2hvgfDa The plastic rocker cover on the Stinger just moves out of the way to make room for the slotted adapter. Lift the car just forward or rearward of the jack point then...

Any good recommends on a good floor jack for the Stinger?

The big harbor freight jacks are well worth the money. I'm particularly fond of the low profile long reach model. You won't find a better deal. I don't like the race aluminum jacks because the lift is very low. Fine for changing tires, but a big headache for anything else. If you need cheap...

    Catch Can Thread

Nope! That's not what the fresh air can is for. The collection in that can will always be very slow, and it's not as critical as the PCV can, but it still is worthwhile. Under heavy load there's significantly more blowby into the crankcase. On FI cars that blowby can't be pulled in by the PCV...

    WTB Wanted: stock exhaust

FWIW, my buddy got back to me - my old system has already been hauled off to the scrapper. Probably sold for $5. Sorry.

    WTB Wanted: stock exhaust

Stock system is 409 stainless. Most shops use aluminized steel by default, but several stock 409 if you pay for it. The stock system is so expensive from Kia solely because it can be. It's less than $400 in materials for the entire system (except the cats - those are always expensive).

    WTB Wanted: stock exhaust

Because the dealer is going to order new parts from Kia, add their markup, then throw on several hours of labor. Dealerships make their money in the service department - not by selling cars. Selling cars is usually a break-even or even a loss. Any exhaust shop could fix it. Could be $100, could...
