Why is it that most people who are running a staggered fitment with a 20x9 and 20x10.5 setup are using a 255/35 in the front and a 285/30 in the rear? Wouldn't it make more sense to run a 295/30 in the rear to keep the overall diameter of the tire the same, especially on an AWD car?
You are correct for AWD:

255 x 35 X 20 = 27.0" diameter
295 x 30 x 20 = 27.0" diameter

Perfect front/rear diameters for the AWD system which is very important.

That is what I figured as well, but I see a lot of people on here running the 285/30 on the rear. I wonder if this had caused any drivetrain damage for anyone, but perhaps the rotational difference front to back isn't enough to make a difference. Ill be doing the 255/35 295/30 combo

For my AWD, because I wanted to run all-seasons, the biggest available rear tire combo for 19" is:

245 x 35 x 19 = 25.8" dia, 784 revs/mile
285 x 30 x 19 = 25.7" dia, 784 revs/mile

Which is a better match than stock.

I would have preferred running 255/295, but 295's are not available for AS 19's.

Thanks. I was only referring to 20" wheel fitments

Kazz, Car turned out crazy nice. Love it.

Here's the SF-07 20x9, 20x10.5 Satin Bronze + 255/35, 285/30 on lowered Stinger

If I want to run the same spec for the sf07 in 20's with stock suspension would that work on an AWD stinger? I'm assuming this fitment is flush? How's the ride quality on the 20's? If I want a tiny more rubber on this set up what tire specs would you recommend? I have my eyes on these wheels but is my first time buying a set of aftermarket wheels. I just purchased a 22 stinger gt2 in ceramic silver. I'm sorry if I'm asking too many questions.

Will the difference in ride quality be better if the overall dimensions are the same for an AWD? Also will the 295/30 in 20's fit flush with no issues?

Need to know all the specs of the wheel to answer that.

In the meantime, these specs will fit flush with a 295 x 30:

10.5 x 19 +48

..and will work with a 20.

So I'm looking at stance wheels sf07 in 19x9.5 in the rear and 19x8.5 in the front. What is the best tire size for these wheels? I'm looking for a flush fitment. I am also going to daily drive my car so i still want enough rubber on my wheels but still make the car look aggressive. My car is a 2022 gt2 awd on stock suspension.

The flush fitment will depend more on the wheel offset. I was more referring to the rotational difference in overall diameters, and how that effects the drivetrain. In an AWD vehicle, it is critical that diameters of all 4 tires are the same, otherwise you have axles spinning at different speeds.

You need to provide the offsets.

Maybe a dumb question - for 2022 AWD GT2, can I get all four tires the same size? 245x40r19 tires? Are the wheels actually different size?

I have not owned a car with different factory tire sizes before... i'd like to make them all the same.

thanks,

The factory wheels are different widths, 19x8 on the front and 19x8.5 on the rear. If you get aftermarket wheels, then you could certainly get a square setup with all four wheels the same size.

Happy Friday Everyone.

Here are some pictures of our Client Dorian's beautiful GT. We helped him source a set of Vossen HF-5 wheels and put together a wheel/tire package. Since he's local to us, we were able to offer free installation and snapped a few pictures afterward.

Question. I had a 2019 GT2 RWD with Stance SF03 19s, 19x8.5 30 offset 245/35/19 front 19x10.5 45 offset 275/35/19 rear. Dropped on eibach pro kit. Well I sold it and kept the wheels and now I have a 2023 GT2 AWD and I want to put my wheels on it but I’m not gonna drop this one. What size tires will work to fill up the wheel well and not rub on the stock suspension?? Thanks for the help.

The Forgestar CF5 has a bespoke program that allows you to fully customize the spec. Depends if you want to go with 18s/19s or 20s , we can provide you with the correct spec for your Stinger! Feel free to reach out if you have any questions.

Hey everyone!
I’m considering swapping out the 19" wheels on my GT (AWD, European model) for 18" wheels to enhance ride comfort, reduce the risk of tire damage on rough roads, reduce curb bites. Personally, I also think 18" wheels with slightly higher-profile tires look better. However, the reasons behind the change aren’t the main focus of this post - let’s dive into the technical side! 😊
  • Has anyone here made this switch on their GT?
  • What tire sizes did you go with - did you stick to the manufacturer-approved setup (all four tires at 225/45), or did you try different sizes? I’m toying with the idea of running 245/45 R18s in the rear and 225/55 R18s up front, but I'm unsure if that’s a good move or if it might put extra strain on the center differential or anything else really.
I mostly worry that the brake caliper won't fit inside the wheel. What's also troubling my mind is that non-GT versions that came with 18" wheels didn't run staggered setup as GTs do.
Thanks in advance for any insights!
