The new Navigation system update will remove the drive mode transition graphics (showing the power running through the various driveline component groups when switching from Comfort to Sport etc) and replace them with a tacky graphic of a late 90's era "car" shape with some crappy colours underneath it. It looks something like a cartoon drawing of a 2002 Kia Rio sedan. It's absolute garbage and makes me angry every time I switch modes, which is every time I use the car. Very disappointing and once you have installed it, you can't go back. At least, not easily. But here is where you, can be an absolute legend and save your fellow Stinger mates. Could someone please take the SD card out of their nav system, copy it to the hard drive of their computer, and upload it as a file to this thread? It is probably way too big for this forum, but if you could email to me I'd be extremely grateful. maxhugepower@gmail.com

My 23 Stinger GT
#2
As my MY 23 Stinger GT seems to have quite old map software I was thinking of updating to the latest available which I see was released on 19 Dec for all Stinger Models going back to 2018.

Why don;t these idiots update it before it leaves the factory?

I have locations coming up that disappeared 20 years ago and others that have been there 15 years not mentioned. These are major things.like schools, level crossings, red light cameras etc etc. It is basically useless when I go into an unfamiliar area.

BUT, I am unable to install the new update through the USB after taking 30 minutes to download 9 Gig and maybe have dodged a bullet.

Kia needs to get their S..it together before they release this stuff and have it fully tried and tested.

Mine says it is incompatible yet it is the exact software they offer. There is no other choice. At least it didn't try to update it.

So I guess I will put up with the so out of date stuff

JoCam.

I have no problem updating my Stinger GT (build date 14 Dec 22 and collected it on 19 Mar 23) via the USB port and have successfully completed three updates since March 23, might I suggest that you could have selected the wrong infotainment system for the update download??

Cheers.
Eric.
