Would liked to have seen a manual transmission option for the 2.0t.

* A 6 speed or 7 speed manual in all trim levels
* No chrome !!! C?mon Kia, sporty cars don?t need chrome !
* More color options and on all trims
* Lot more space under front seats so rear passengers can stretch their feet under
* Thinner seats like Volvo seats which are the best in the business. Again, to improve space in the rear.
* Different All Season tire options for different regions, roads in some cold parts of USA are cold and wet while other parts are cold and snowy. Think Seattle vs Boston.
* Option to delete faux vents. They are totally uncool.
* Darkish Red or Brown interior options. They add so much more character inside the car.
* interior trim option other than piano black on the 2.0 car. Why companies are choosing piano black ???!!! They are horrible.
* zero cost option to get 18 inch wheels instead of 19, again for improved ride.
* A performance package with 2.0 engine that has wider tires, brembo brakes, limited slip differential, dark wheels, blacked out trim pieces, etc.
* 3 zone automatic climate control
* Optional sunroof
* Better taillight cluster design. They just don?t appear as good as the LED headlights.

I agree with a lot of the comments above, but I'd have to say my biggest gripe is the driving dynamics in comfort mode.. To me there is zero difference between eco and comfort. Sport mode is awesome, but it doesn't every shift into 8th gear, which kills hwy fuel economy. It also provides somewhat jolting shifts when just driving normally. I didn't buy this for the gas mileage, but it would be nice for comfort mode to be somewhere between eco and sport.. not just another eco mode.

The lack of difference completely negates the need for smart mode, since most of the time, even during spirited driving, smart mode is switching between comfort and eco. I basically have to floor it to get it to switch to sport.

Great car.. I love it, but comfort mode is a joy killer.

That's where your CUSTOM mode comes in! LOL Change your settings so that the suspension and steering are in Sport, the engine/transmission in eco, and the awd in comfort. Ta Daaaaa!!!!!! ;-)

I?ve tried that already.. the problems I have aren?t with the suspension, but with the hard shifts and tranny not shifting into 8th at highway speeds. With custom set up so that I have comfort suspension and sport engine/transmission, the car behaves the same.

You said that you have the the engine/transmission in SPORT. That's not where YOU want it. Put E/T in ECO and your shifting/8th gear should be just what you want. When the transmission is in SPORT, the ECU holds the previous gear for a very extended time frame and also pushes the clutches faster for shifting. ECO will smooth your shifts and get you in OD gears sooner.

I think maybe you?re missing the point of my initial post. I don?t want the engine and transmission to work the way it does in eco. I want it to be more aggressive than that. My problem is that comfort and eco seem to be essentially the same thing. The way it shifts, the shift points and throttle response are not really different. What I?m complaining about is that I would like the comfort setting to be in the middle of sport and eco.. not just another eco.

Maybe, I don't know. What changes when you go from ECO to Comfort is the steering boost (additional), the suspension dampening (open dampers), and the AWD (up to 50/50 front to rear split).

So, when you twist the Drive Mode Select from mode to mode, ALL of the settings adjust accordingly. In your original post, you said that you loved SPORT but didn't like the shift control. My advice was to use CUSTOM instead of full SPORT/ECO/CUSTOM. That way you could tailor the rest of the Stinger to sport settings EXCEPT for the E/T setting so that it shifts the way that you'd like.

I see what you're saying... I have my custom set up so that I have most of the settings to comfort. The ONLY thing I'm really concerned about is the shift points and throttle response. I would just like a setting for that particular characteristic that is closer to the middle of sport and eco. Right now comfort doesn't fit that bill. And there is nothing I can do in the custom settings to change it. I have three things to choose from: Sport - which is awesome for driving the car hard and impressing passengers, eco, which is terribly boring, and comfort, which seems to be the exact same thing.

No worries. Again, I love the car and I'm really just nit-picking. I appreciate your responses and feedback.

I'm wondering if it will have remote start too. I know the K900 has it through UVO, so my hope is they'll offer for the Stinger too. My current car has it (through the fob) and it's spoiled me; having a remote start app would be even better.
That it a Port Installed Extra, so it can be done, call me and I can assit you with it

Are you saying UVO remote start from an app can be installed from a dealer?

Welcome aboard, Marc! Before I get my hopes up, are you referring to the system with the fob? I had planned on getting that one eventually, if no UVO capability is added....

NO, he is not.

Remote start is NOT an option on the Stinger yet.

In order to have the UVO based system, a vehicle has to have an LTE modem embedded in the vehicle and the 2018 does not and will not.

As for standard remote start, it will be a Port Installed Option in the future but is not available currently. Can't get it from Kia or aftermarket currently.

Thanks MurlinatoR that's what I needed clarification on since he quoted the whole sentence.
