Hey guys. Just purchased a stinger GT last week. Car has 7k km on the clock.

I noticed when I floor the car (3/4 to full throttle) out of a corner and sometimes in a straight line from the dig the car revs till 4k rpm and completely loses boost/power while my foot was still on the pedal. And it gains power back and upshift itself into a higher gear after 3 to 5 seconds. No check engine light no codes. Happened in both comfort and sport mode, with of without traction control and stability control on or off. This however never happened when I floored it on the highway. I am able to replicate this issue 90% of the time if I wanted to.

However, my concern is it will happen when I'm driving on the highway and try to accelerate, and it can be very dangerous.

I found posts with similar issue online. I attached the videos from the post I found. When the issue happens it looks like you let off the throttle when rpm hits 4-4.5k but no, the throttle pedal was pressed down solid, just no fuel no power for a good 3 to 5 seconds.

Let me know guys, thanks in advance. View attachment Screen_Recording_20210529-175447_Chrome_1.mp4

Welcome, it sounds like you mite have an ECU problem. There has been a couple of stinger owners that had their ECU changed out because they were faulty. Try disconnecting the battery for fifteen minutes then reconnect to see if that fixes the problem...

Good idea, I never thought of the ecu. When the dealer got my car ready they had to put the fuse back since the car was sitting in the showroom for a little while. I disconnected the batter and gonna was for 15 and see what happens

Did it solve your issue? I'm having something of a similar problem, but after the 1-2 shift and somewhat less repeatable.

Not yet, but the dealer was able to pin point where the issue is from. Apparently it's a common issue along 18-21 models, the fuel pump/vacuum pump was bad. I'm going back next Tuesday for the pump swap.

Asked in a local Facebook group. Alot of owner had the same or at least similar issue, all due to bad fuel pump. All claimed problem was fixed after the repair.

Really...2022 too? Take it back to the dealer, I'm sure they will know what's going on if it really was the pump. You mind elaborate your issues?

Basically the same thing that's going on with yours, except that it usually happens under hard acceleration from a stop or slow speed. The car will climb all the way through the rev range, shift, and then it falls flat on its face and barely accelerates until I lift my foot off the pedal and reapply. If I continue to hold the pedal down it will eventually reach the red line, shift, and then continue to barely accelerate in the next gear.
The weird part is, it seems to be more repeatable when I'm below a quarter tank of gas.

Def the pump issue. Mines the same, from a dig, turning out of corners. At the beginning I thought it was due to traction control issue but it's not since it happens when the TC is turned off too, also more easy to replicate when the tank isn't full, but I was able to do it when it's filled up too. Dont listen to others who say it's the traction control nanny, apparently they don't know what they're saying. Ive had people telling me that I didn't know anything about a "very powerful car like the Stinger" so I was being paranoid about the car's "safety feature kicking in". It ain't true and I just cringe when people think the Stinger is a "very powerful car and there's a feature to prevent you from killing yourself" totally BS. I digress. But yes, it's the pump and it definitely is a issue more than a "feature"

Did this completely resolve the problem... because my 2022 Gt-line AWD 2.5L is doing the same thing... but only when using launch mode. I'll launch fine and accelerate to around 4 or 5k then everything stops and there's a surge (being in 1st gear) drops to around 3 - 4k then shifts into 2nd and continues no problem. If I don't use launch mode... like a 5 - 60mph test.. it's fine.

Any updates on your situation because I have a similar problem with my 2022 Gt-line AWD 2.5L....
I have a kia stinger 2.0l 2020 and whenever I floor it from a low rpm into a high it cuts boost completely until I shut car off then turn it back on anyone know what this could be?

Is it AWD? Do you have the same issue if you floor it from 5 - 60mph? Just idle and let the car roll some while it's under 5 mph then floor it!

I know this is an old thread but I have 2019 G70 3.3 with same issue at 88k miles. Do you guys know which fuel pump was replaced? The high pressure or low pressure?

I don’t think my car is under warranty because im second owner past 60k but willing to do the work myself just not sure which is going bad.
