- What I Drive
- 2021 Kia Stinger GT2
I am looking at both the Lap 3 and the Tork Motorsports ECU tune. Looks like the Lap 3 is around $2300 with spare ECU and Tork is around $1750 with spare ECU. I am curious the opinion of both of these by the group (I have looked through all the tuning stuff but did not find this comparison). I am in a 2021 Stinger GT2 AWD and have the JB4 and PNP, 93 octane (sometimes Map3 or 4 with E85...bu daily Map 2), JA airsnorkles, and AEM drop ins (going to be putting in CAI soon).
- How might either of these tunes (looks like Lap 3 claiming 410-430 HP and Tork stage one claiming 100 additional HP) compare to my JB4 experience (ie drive quality, 0-60 time, 1/4 miles)
- Is one tune preferred over the other for the simple “set it and forget it”, reliability, and performance? (I am not looking for a bunch of playing around and additional work to dial things in)
- By purchased a spare ECU, does this cover me for any warranty issues? (Ie if something goes wrong and breaks...put spare ECU in and go to dealer). With the spare ECU, will a dealer be able to see that car ran on a tune? (I don’t want to void my warranty....and I know, I know..don’t get an ECU flash...thus the question about the spare ECU)
- Anything else I should know as I consider this vs. my current JB4
