Considering potentially towing my bike or jetski at some point with the Stinger. Has anyone done any research on how much weight the chassis can pull?

There's a Class 2 hitch 3,500 pound capacity available for the Genesis G80 which shares the same platform as the Kia Stinger. The only difference is that the Stinger has an AWD which may vary its towing capacity from the G80.

Here's are photos of the Stinger towing a decent size trailer.

The Stinger manual advises against towing of any kind.

You're right and most manufactures will suggest against towing trailers or even exclude that information in their manual. In the Kia Optima owner's manual it also advises against towing.[biggrin]

I'm probably going to install a hidden hitch for my bike carrier rather than for towing.

If I see a Stinger towing anything, I will politely give him/her a confused look. A bike rack is acceptable. But a trailer? [facepalm]

I thought the manual says something like a 900 lb. weight capacity for hauling people around so if you and your passenger make 400 lbs that leaves 500 for towing.

Who's hitch did you go with and how was the install?
Draw-Tite 24974 is the only hitch on the market as far as I could find.

Install is super easy if you are comfortable taking off the bumper cover.
I cut the bumper cover with a hot-knife. Worked like a champ.

Did you install a brake controller?
LOL

No. This type of trailer doesn't have brakes to control. No hobby trailer of this size has brakes

My trailer and bike weight a combined weight of less than 4 average sized adult males..
I towed the exact same bike and trailer for years with my much smaller and lighter Mazda 3. All is good
