It also looks like they may be changing the configuration of the wheels, AWD, and speed reduction.

Early observations make it look like a Stinger GT with AWD might also come with 18" wheels and the 130mph speed reduction. This would be a major change because in 2018 you CAN get AWD with the 19" wheels and 167mph limit.

I'll keep an eye on this as we move closer to drop date....

In the PacificNW I have - literally - seen some AWD versions (2018's mind you) with 18" rims and all-seasons. Ridiculous iMO, but I may not be alone. Hope Kia doesn't move this direction for the AWD 2019's. We'll see. Makes my decision to go RWD with 19's and summer tires even more secure!

Purchasing this month MOST LIKELY! That is, September. I may pull the trigger today, but... more likely tomorrow with whatever incentives are on the table.

However, pricing for the 2019's and the Safety Package, that may be a key for me... We'll see. I'm patient.

Is there any news on the arrival of the 2019 models in the US?
I live in Oregon, and Tacoma, WA is a big port that receives a LOT of Stingers. They rolled in quickly last year, so I imagine early October we'll see a few in the Oregon/WA dealerships.

Nothing yet...

I do wonder if they are already on-shore, but at the car docks waiting for October to start filling the channel... this can often be the case. Once I see any I'll let you know and take a photo of the specs, but it should be on the KIA.com website come October 1st, yes?...

We'll see.

Still not even released to dealers to order for stock. They are NOT on shore yet. It will be largely in November for dealer arrival as my estimated time of arrival.

Any word on the 2019's Stingers having 4G LTE Wi-Fi hotspots? I know without it, there will not be any UVO remote services (Remote start, heat adjustment, etc ) like our "cooler" friends in Canada currently have.

Looks like the 2019's Optima, K900 and Forte will have it, why no love for the stinger?!?! [V]

Beyond belief if it is not even an option in the US when those other KIA vehicles already have it.

They will NOT have LTE.

The only model with it this year is the 2019 Optima. The new K900 will get it as well as a couple of other models for the 2020 model year.

It requires a completely new head unit as well as wiring for the modem and antenna.

I'm guessing that the Stinger will get a "refresh" for 2021 and I expect it to be present on that model year. Let's come back here in 3 years to see if I'm right??? LOL

That sucks that Canada has the feature but the USA gets the crappy Kia remote start fob [mad].

I thought the USA would be getting the same version of the Stinger that Canada has been getting but we are not "worthy" [confuse]

Well, there are pro's and con's to each. LOL The fob doesn't require cell phone coverage. Doesn't fail when you break/lose your phone. It also doesn't cost you after it's installed.

The UVO Link system that operates from your phone will require a monthly/annual subscription fee be paid to continue the service after the complimentary period expires.

1) Just confirming from the Kia website, for 2019 is the heated steering wheel an option for the RWD, or just for the AWD? 2) Are the 2019's getting the upgraded headliner?

No suede headliner yet on 2019s. Also Heated steering wheel still an option linked to the AWD package.

Just saw a U.S. 2019 GT2 AWD window sticker with 5 years of UVO eServices, does that mean it has the cellphone app remote start?

Its the UVO eServices Phone App that you get free for 5 years. Remote start isn't available with this service.
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.ubivelox.hkmc.tm2.ics&hl=en_US
https://itunes.apple.com/us/app/uvo-eservices/id588729103?mt=8

This is what you can do with the App service.
  1. Vehicle Diagnostics: Diagnose whether problems exist within major vehicle features. If an abnormality exists, you can call Kia Roadside Assist or schedule a service appointment with any Kia Dealership directly from the vehicle or using the UVO app.
  2. MyPOIs: Synchronize your POIs list from your MyUVO account with your vehicle's navigation system.
  3. Parking Minder: Save the location where the vehicle parked and navigate to it later, or send the location to a friend.
  4. Roadside Assist: Contact Kia Roadside Assistance Program with just one click.
  5. My Car Zone: Create records of when your vehicle is traveling faster than a set speed, starts driving later than a set time, or enters a set restrited area
  6. Trip Info: Analytics of your monthly driving habits such as total time driving, total distance drving, average speed and average start time.
  7. Dealer Apointments: Request service apointments at a dealership of your choosing.
  8. Awards: Earn badges for using MyUVO's features.

Two things does the 2019 gt2 come with wireless phone charging, and does the awd come with 18" or 19" standard?

I think if the all season tire package is not added it will come with the 19s high performance tires.
